A Caddy in your Corner
Behind every champion golfer is a genius caddy.
Contrary to popular belief, caddies don’t just carry golf clubs. Far from it. I would even dare to say that caddies are the secret weapons for a lot of winning golfers. A golfer’s caddy is essentially his teammate.
Yes, caddies do prepare the equipment. They make sure the right clubs are ready for the right hole. Caddies ensure the tee is set, the ball is wiped clean, and the appropriate club is in their golfer’s hands. A caddy is to a golfer what a nurse is to a surgeon. Necessary, if not vital, to the overall success of the procedure.
Caddies also know the course. They pour over maps and detailed information about the course.
They know every nook, cranny, green, pond, turn, and sand pit on the course. They become experts on whatever course they are at that particular day. They consult, research, and brainstorm what the best strategy for each hole will be.
Caddies know what weather conditions to expect and what changes or modifications in game play will need to be made. They know the competitors and who performs best on this course and why.
A caddy is once removed from being the actual player, giving them a birds-eye view and inside information to best inform the correct move at each hole.
The caddy prepares, plans, and strategizes. He adapts, consults, and advises. He encourages, admonishes, and warns.
We could all use a caddy in life. Someone who looks at the landscape of our life and helps us plot the course to success. A mentor who uses the tools they have to make informed decisions and provide advice. A team mate who wants the win for us as much as we want it for ourselves.
A personal consultant can be that life caddy for you. They often look at the components of your life, evaluate the climate and factors you’re facing and work with you on what is the best strategy for the moment. You now have someone that can help you identify past attempts at your goals and discuss why you didn’t see success. The best part is you can then game-plan the next steps and create a blueprint to pursue your goals. Outside elements and competition will always be there, but you now have someone by your side to navigate the best path around those obstacles.
On your own, you can only see so much. When you’re in the middle of the journey, it’s hard to see beyond the immediate moment. Working with a personal consultant, or a caddy, can chart a course that accommodates for the present and plans for the future.
With a caddy by your side, you will get the win.
